Nielsen report documents dominance of social media

Nielsen’s comprehensive look at social media reveals that social networks — Facebook, most prominently — account for the largest share of time Americans spend online, at 22.5%. One lesson found in “State of the Media: The Social Media Report” is that “there’s a need for companies to engage even more strategically in the space,” said Radha Subramanyam, Nielsen’s senior vice president for media and advertising insights and analytics.
