Unbanked Intuit Merchants Can Accept Credit Cards

Intuit Inc. is launching a prepaid card this week that will enable merchants without a checking account to deposit sales made with the Mountain View, Calif.-based company’s GoPayment app and card reader.

GoPayment enables small-business owners to accept credit cards via smartphones or tablet devices.

The Intuit GoPayment Prepaid Visa Card will be free to GoPayment customers. The company plans to offer the card to its more than 8 million small businesses customers processing about $2.6 trillion in commerce annually, according to Chris Hylen, general manager of Intuit’s payment solutions division.
