Chevron and Safeway to offer fuel-rewards-based loyalty program

CSP is reporting Chevron is now partnering with supermarket chain Safeway Inc. to offer its first fuel-rewards-based loyalty program in the United States.

With California as its launching point this October, the first phase of the loyalty-program rollout enables customers earning points in Safeway’s Reward Points loyalty program to use them to receive a discount at the pump at participating Chevron and Texaco branded locations. Safeway operates more than 1,600 food stores in the United States and western Canada.
