Document formatting tools such as HP Exstream, SEFAS, etc. allows the creation of dynamic QR codes personalized to a recipient – which could allow consumers to skip the toll-free telephone call and enable “scan to activate” a new credit or debit card.
However, today’s crop of leading card issuing/production platforms don’t support dynamic QR code creation/imprinting onto card carrier letterhead. Adding to the challenge is the lack of mobile-optimized web portals to support the cardholder authentication element of activating a new card.
