According to a new report by author Nitin Bhas of Juniper Research, about 25% of tablet PC users will use their mobile device to pay bills by 2017. The report expects bill payment and presentment will progressively migrate from the desktop towards tablet devices.
Juniper calculates that tablet users of transactional banking services will reach almost 200 million by the end of 2017, representing 19 per cent of total mobile banking customers in 2017. Around 9 per cent of mobile banking customers currently use tablets. The report also suggests that tablet users will be more receptive to mobile bill presentment and payment (MBPP) services than mobile handset users.
