Once scorned by the television networks, CBS, NBC and ABC are now pointing to research that shows consumers over 50 spend some $90 billion a year on cars alone. By 2017 they will control 70% of the nation’s disposable income.

EveryBlock, the hyper-local news site owned by NBC, abandoned ship without notice in February. Blogging platform Posterous closed earlier this week, one year after it was purchased by Twitter, giving users two months notice that it was closing. Google Reader, the RSS tool, shuts down July 1st.
